It’s special to build long-term partnerships. After five years, the journey Stagecast and the London Symphony Orchestra have been on with miHoYo’s super-hit game Genshin Impact has just reached an important milestone.
Our new music video with the LSO and London Voices marks the latest release of Genshin Impact and the arrival for players at Snezhnaya, the final region of the game’s world, Teyvat, following our previous films that launched Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan and Nod-Krai.
Building on the astonishing success of the Nod-Krai videos, one of which has over 14 million views on YouTube alone, we headed for the icy frozen plains and mountains of Snezhnaya, recreated in Eastbrook Studios London, to film two brand new tracks composed by the in-house music team at HoYo-MiX and our good friend Yu-Peng Chen.
The ensembles were joined this time by acclaimed pianist Polina Osetinskaya, with the combined musicians led from the podium by indomitable conductor Robert Ziegler, who has become a well-known and loved personality with game players through our behind-the-scenes filming at the recording sessions.
Filmed in 4K on Arri cinema cameras with facilities provided by Hotcam, it was executive produced by Matt Parkin and directed by Phil Glenny, with production management by eStage, set design by Madeleine Boyd and lighting by Robert Price. Editing was by Thomas Aston, with grading by Colin Brown at BSQUAREDPost.
